IT Manager

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for directly overseeing and coordinating the information technology-related activities of workers in a given organization or company. Areas under an IT Manager's purview may include requirements definition, design, installation, maintenance, support, and upgrade of operating systems, software, hardware, and peripherals; monitoring and maintenance of network equipment, applications, and security; database design, development, and administration; technical support and troubleshooting; establishment and execution of backup, restoration, and anti-virus strategies; and quality assurance. A person in this position plans and establishes work/project schedules; assigns employees to specific duties; addresses and resolves worker problems; determines equipment needs; and hires, trains, and evaluates personnel. An IT Manager also prepares reports and budgets for management and develops methods and procedures to meet customer and internal requirements.
