Customer Service Representative

Responsible for dealing directly with the public, usually in person or by telephone. A Customer Service Representative handles such tasks as soliciting orders for goods and services; investigating and resolving customers' inquiries concerning merchandise, service, or billing; and examining pertinent information to determine the accuracy of customer complaints and responsibility for errors. Additionally, a person in this position notifies customers and appropriate personnel of findings, adjustments, and recommendations; completes records; and prepares reports dealing with orders, complaints, and adjustments.
